Top ten places to visit in Europe

There is so much history associated with Europe along with amazing architecture and breathtaking scenery. Certainly there are dozens of places in Europe one absolutely must see at least once in their lifetime, but here is a list of the top ten.

1. London: The hustle and bustle of London is fascinating to someone who has never been there. There are so many things to see in this busy city such as Buckingham Palace and the tower of London. The underground mode of transportation is quite an experience, taking you any place you want to go. But save some of your energy for the awesome nightlife.

2. Iceland: This amazing Island dubbed The City of Ice and Fire, is full of volcanoes, geysers and waterfalls. It is truly an amazing sight and one of the top ten must see destinations of many travelers.

3. Rome: Otherwise known as the Eternal City, Rome is jam-packed with historical sights. This ancient Italian capital, once the center of the great Roman Empire, is among the top ten tourist destinations, listed by UNESCO as the World Heritage Site. There is a lot of history associated with Rome and their museums are absolutely fascinating.

4. Amsterdam- The flowing canals and bridges amid the charming 17th century architecture makes Amsterdam the very core of Holland. The fragrant floating flower markets along with the resplendent museums and quaint locals, makes Amsterdam one of the ten best places in Europe to visit.

5. Dublin: The Irish have a quaint and charming attitude and the small island near the UK is a pleasant and beautiful place to visit, especially if you like to drink. Dublin boasts some very famous drinking establishments. You’ll find the locals to be friendly and very welcoming.

6. Paris – There is never a dull moment in Paris! With so much to see and do, it is impossible to get it all in 7 days. The awesome city is filled with museums along with the huge Louvre and the looming Eiffel Tower. And of course, the gargoyles of Notre Dame is a must see.

7. Venice: One of the most popular cities in Italy, Venice is a haven for honeymooners. The mode of transportation in this romantic city is by foot or by water. Filled with beautiful art, shopping and excellent food, it is a wonderful place to simply get lost and take it all in. Take your sweetheart to Venice, or go alone. Perhaps your sweetheart awaits you there.

8. Florence: Famous for its art, wine and architecture, this Renaissance city is full of history and culture. Beautiful churches and museums bring many tourists to this spectacular city year after year. The famous art galleries house masterpieces such as Michelangelo and DaVinci.

9. The Greek Islands: White homes cling to the cliffs along the beaches of the Greek Islands with blue-domed churches and breathtaking scenery. The Greek Islands are relatively inexpensive to visit and the atmosphere is calm and relaxed.

10. Athens: Almost all Greeks consider Athens their home. Athens is said to be home to the Greek gods and the ancient city is filled with history. One of the top ten tourist stops, Athens is a great place to visit for the history buff.

These awe-inspiring travel destinations will exhilarate anyone who visits them. Their magnificent beauty, history and culture, staggers the mind. If you haven’t been to any of these places, you have no idea what you’re missing. Plan a trip for Europe. You’ll be glad you did.
